This is the latest update on the imminent changes to anyone booking driving tests.
Dates for your diary –
- 31st March 2026 – Only 2 changes can be made to a current test booking. This includes both the date and location of the driving test.
Changes to your driving test that will not affect your change limit are –
- Updating your address or telephone numbers for your test booking.
- Adding or removing your driving instructor’s reference number to your test booking
- Any Changes to your test date or time made via the DVSA.
- 12th May 2026 – Only the learner driver can book their driving test and make changes to their booking.
- 9th June 2026 – Learner drivers can only move their booked driving test to a test centre near the booked test location. (one of the three nearest test centres from the original booking)
Before booking your driving test, confirm that you’re ready to take your test with your driving instructor.
When booking your driving test, use the driving instructor’s reference number, as this will assist you in not booking your driving test for a date that the instructor can’t attend.
