Paul had some initial driving lessons with another instructor, but they weren’t regular enough. Eventually, they lost contact, but not through his trying.
Paul initially contacted me, wanting to take an intensive driving course. However, this was not the best option for him due to a large backlog of driving tests from the COVID-19 pandemic. We agreed that regular weekly driving lessons would be his best option. Like many new drivers, Paul initially found focusing on what was happening outside the car challenging. However, we worked together on planning and learning to assess a developing situation and arrive at the developing hazard at the right speed and road position.
One of Paul’s most significant hurdles was his lack of confidence. He often felt that he wasn’t as good as he could be. But we worked on developing a “can-do” attitude towards his driving; the results speak for themselves. From someone who struggled to read the road ahead, especially at roundabouts, Paul became a confident and safe driver.
On test day, Paul had the same “Can Do” attitude to his driving and treated the test as if it were a driving lesson. He passed his driving test with flying colours.
